This is a page full of links to other pages. I've heard that some
people dislike pages of links and find them boring, and I can't say
I entirely blame them, but, well, this page has existed on the web since
1994 and it's not going anywhere, boring or not.
These are links to pages by/of/about actual people. Some
of these sites are the work of professional artists and web designers.
Some are very simple sites with minimal graphics. Some are quite ordinary
and/or unimpressive as website design goes. Some are big sites, some
are small ones. All of them interested me for one reason or another,
from the amusing content to the glorious design to the "realness" of
the person whose site it is. These are about the people who
created the sites, and not so much about the sites, themselves.
Some People I Know
All of these folks are known to me in my material or virtual life.
Some of these folks are net.friends and/or penpals, and a few are only
distant acquaintances, but they are, hopefully, aware of me enough to
admit they know me (although with some of my friends, it's hard to tell).
Don't take the length or lack of a quote to mean that the person is
not well known to me or that I like or dislike them more or less than
someone else on the list. Sometimes I just didn't have that much to
say about someone (at least not in public).
- Keri Arthur
- The Bowen
Family
- I've known Daniel via the net for some years, and now that I live
in Melbourne, we see each other on a social basis (see, told you
I had a life). Daniel has two of the cutest little boys I've ever
seen, and one of the coolest web sites (Toxic
Custard) I can think of, and his ex-wife, Lori, happens to be my
best friend!
- Andrew Bromage
aka Sir Pseudonym aka my Awful Wedded Husband
- David Bromage aka Ylid
- Some men are born great, some achieve greatness,
and some will always be total gits.
- David is my husband's elder brother, and therefore my brother-in-law.
I've known David for a long, long time, longer than my husband,
in fact, and I know quite a lot about him (I've got all the dirt, so feel free to ask *wink*).
- Greg Bromage aka The Mystic
- My friend and favorite brother-in-law, Greg was Best Man at our
wedding (and a fine job he did, too). Mind you his homepage is his resumé, and fairly impersonal, but what the heck.
- Miranda Joy Bromage
- Andrews and my younger daughter.
- Zoë Elizabeth Bromage
- Andrew's and my elder daughter.
- Andrew Bulhak
aka acb
- A very quirky, amusing, odd sort of bloke. I've known him for
absolutely ages.
- Kristin
Buxton
- Dave
Chinnery
- Dave is one of my very first net.friends, and one of the first
Australians I got to know. And you know what? As soon as I moved
to Australia, he moved to the States. I don't think it
was planned that way....
- Sean Covert
- Dave Fischer
- Louise
Howard
- Bruce Jewell
- Yet another bloke from (near) Melbourne, Australia, and a looney,
to boot! Been known to claim that snakes are his favorite marsupials, but what can you do with a silly
Bruce, anyway? And he still owes me a beer, now that I think of it...
- Katgyrl
- Sean Mikel aka
The PC Doctor aka Evil Sean
- A former co-worker, and a man so
geeky he had a SIMM on his keyring. He
also has (or had, anyway) the most amazingly cheesy answering
machine message, and the scary part is
that the smarmy, radio disc jockey delivery
is his real voice!
- Kirrily
Robert aka Skud
- A geek and then some, and she's damned funny. A fan of Monty Python,
Terry Pratchett, Doug Adams, and geek humor, plus she was taught at school
by my mother-in-law, is well-connected with most of the people my
husband works with and the international Open Source community, and is part of the Usenet II project. How much cooler can she possibly be?
- Ann Stretton
- Andrew
Wilson
Some People I Don't Know
Okay, uhm, I don't really know any of these people
to any extent. I happened to come across their pages and found them
interesting, or I encountered them in some way on the net (or possibly
even real life), or maybe I liked their books or films.
- Douglas Adams
- Author of the gloriously funny Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy,
along with other cool stuff such as The Long Dark Teatime of
the Soul. And no, I don't know him, but I understand that my
husband's older brother interviewed him once, so I guess I'm only
one degree removed from Doug. R.I.P., Doug. So this is it then. We're all going to die.
- Jo Beverley
-
- Multiple award winning and bestselling author. I've yet to be disappointed by one of Jo's books. And while I am on her mailing list, I can't really say I "know" her. Yet, anyway...
- Elenita
- Beautiful site design, eloquent writing, open heart and sharp mind. What more could you ask for?
- Richard
Clegg
- Robert Steven Connett
and the "Vomitus Maximus Museum"
- Connett is an artist of the surreal, psycho-representational sort.
Some (okay, much) of his work is quite disturbing and possibly quite
offensive, but I happen to find it utterly fascinating (which may
say something about my own subconscious, eh?).
- Bill
Godwin-Austen
- Anil Gupta
of Inkline Studios
- This is actually a business site, but Anil is a real artist...
a tattoo artist. His portfolio has some of the most exquisite
tattoo work I've ever seen (no, I don't have any tattoos... yet...)
- Gwen
- Laughed out loud all throughout the site. This woman is funny,
and she quotes one of my all-time favorite bands, Triumph. Extremely
entertaining. What more can I say?
- Junie
- Bob
King
- Steven Lareau
- This is a real person, heart and soul, words and images. Amazing digital art, and the Dancing Internet Baby gallery is just too funny! Lots to see and read on Steve's site, so go have a look.
- Elizabeth G. Melillo,
Ph.D. aka Lady Gloriana
- James "Kibo" Parry
- Net legend, net.god, geek, and a funny guy, as well. All hail Kibo!
- Silver
- Tesserae
