Untooning Jessica Rabbit
Wed, 30 Apr 08 The finished untooned Jessica Rabbit is also online (warning, it's a bit big, but it's worth it, in my opinion). Cat playing a theramin
Tue, 15 Apr 08 (In case you don't know, a theremin is an electronic musical instrument; you can hear one in the Beach Boys' Good Vibrations and in the original Star Trek theme, and you can make your own if you're so inclined.) Oooh Girl
Thu, 03 Apr 08 GenX deconstruction of an R&B seduction song. Probably not entirely safe for work, but very funny. Kitty love
Sun, 30 Mar 08 In late 2002, Patrick J. Collins, discovered that he had fallen deeply in love with a cat named "Coco". However, there was just one problem...Coco already had an owner! One day, while driving down the LA freeway and listening to the radio, Patrick came up with the idea to create a parody of the top-40 hit rap song, "Dilemma" by Nelly and Kelly Rowland, only this time, the song would be expressing his deep feelings for Coco and letting everyone know how badly he wants to make that cat his! If people talked in real life like they comment on the net...
Thu, 20 Mar 08 Language is NSFW, but content is very funny. I've often said that I fear for the future of humanity when I read the comments on YouTube or other sites... [link] Who is the master?
Tue, 18 Mar 08 This is where my head is. Seriously. It's weird in here lately. Reality tunnels... (well, maybe it does, I haven't decided...) Food Fight
Fri, 29 Feb 08 An abridged history of American-centric warfare, from WWII to present day, told through the foods of the countries in conflict. For the official cheat sheet (breakdown of the foodstuffs), visit: http://homepage.mac.com/stefannadelman/foodfight/cheat.htm Waterloo
Wed, 27 Feb 08 First: And now: (Muriel's Wedding is one of my all-time favourite films; I highly recommend it) Order in the Chaos - Synchronicity through Fractals
Fri, 22 Feb 08 Windows Music
Tue, 19 Feb 08 A fairly engaging composition created entirely from stock sounds in Windows 98 and XP. Etch A Sketch Artistry
Tue, 05 Feb 08 Famed Etch A Sketch artist George Vlosich's portrait creation of Denver Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony. The video is a time lapse version; the actual time needed to finish the work was twenty-five hours. I find it particularly amazing because not only is it really good, it's done on an Etch A Sketch. I can't even manage a simple circle on one of those stupid things, and this guy does excellent portrait work with one. Amazing. Finally, a good use for Vegemite on toast
Tue, 29 Jan 08 Vegemite on toast as ART! (Well, it's not like I'd eat the stuff... I know, it's terribly unAustralian of me.)
Speaking of hilarous parodies...
Fri, 25 Jan 08 Regular readers of this blog will know that I am no fan of Tom Cruise. That being said, I'm not going to post links to his now-infamous Scientology videos (you can find them for yourself, I'm sure; they're all over the web). I will, however post this hilarious parody video starring Jerry O'Connell. I never thought much about him one way or the other prior to seeing this, but now, I actually like him. He should do more comedy! (Note: You don't need to have seen the original Tom Cruise videos to enjoy this parody; it's funny all on its own.) Britney Spears Wants Us to Leave Chris Crocker Alone
Fri, 25 Jan 08 First, Chris Crocker gained his fifteen minutes of fame by sobbing and begging us "leave Britney alone", and then countless parodies, including my personal favourites, Leave Blackbeard Alone and Seth Green's Leave Chris Crocker Alone. Now, from the National Lampoon comes Britney Spears responding to the Chris Crocker phenomenon. Yes, I agree, leave him alone! Just do hilarious parodies of him, it's much more fun! (note: video contains language that may not be safe for work or small children) Oh, and a funny and irreverent bonus, The Exorcism of Britney Spears from the same source.
Photoshop is Magic
Sun, 20 Jan 08 Whenever you see a hot girl in a magazine, just remember - you can't Photoshop a personality. Save Me From Myself
Mon, 14 Jan 08 I haven't been that much of a Christina Aguilera fan, historically. Her early stuff was just entirely not to my taste, and her "Dirrty" phase was a big turn off, plus she used to like to go to award shows looking like a Barbie doll, complete with bizarrely frizzed nylon blonde hair and strange clothes with holes slashed in them. That being said, she's been changing her image and style for a while now and I really did like her song, "Beautiful". Recently, she's been producing stuff that I do quite like ("Candy Man" is terribly clever, I think), and she can really, truly sing, which is something I always like to see (I'm absolutely not a fan of overproduced, pitch-corrected, is-it-real-or-a-computer type stuff). Today I saw this song and I'm blown away. I'm going to have to get her latest album. I'm just going to have to do it. Well done, Christina, you've converted me. (And congratulations on the birth of your baby boy.) No! Not THAT!
Fri, 11 Jan 08 Note the different reactions of the little boy and the little girl to the news about their soon-to-be-born sibling. So you're on a desert island and you lose your glasses...
Sat, 05 Jan 08 Just poke a hole in a leaf! No, really! White and Nerdier
Fri, 04 Jan 08 What's more nerdy than Weird Al Yankovic's "White and Nerdy"? The LEGO version. Human Tetris
Thu, 03 Jan 08 The music for this is really what totally makes this video as far as I'm concerned. I giggled through almost all of it. OMG WTF? LOL!
Sun, 30 Dec 07 Fear of ending up like this kid is the reason I almost never use txt type abbreviations. *shudder* Britney Spears gives parenting advice to her pregnant sixteen-year-old sister
Sat, 22 Dec 07 (And yes, Britney Spears does have a pregnant sixteen-year-old sister, in case you weren't aware.) Blue Man
Fri, 21 Dec 07 I haven't got a WTF category on this blog. Maybe I should. Here's the video, you can see for yourself (and you'll probably say or at least think something equivalent to WTF?!) Da Bears
Thu, 20 Dec 07 Apparently, this week marks the ten year anniversary of the death of Chris Farley. I'm posting this, one of my absolutely favourite Saturday Night Live bit, partly in honour of that anniversary, but mostly because I just really like Bill Swerski's Super Fans. Not the Nine O'Clock News - General Synod's Life of Christ
Tue, 18 Dec 07 Python lovers will absolutely love this (especially those of you who are familiar with all of the controversy surrounding Monty Python's Life of Brian): And then, in case that wasn't enough Pythonesque humour:
Longer
Tue, 18 Dec 07 One of the most beautiful love songs ever written, in my opinion. First time I heard this song, I was in my early teens and I remember thinking, "Wow. Some day I hope I have someone I can sing this song to..." (As it happens, I did, but I don't think I've ever actually sung this song to him to the best of my recollection.) Hearing this song makes me a bit sad now. I'm surprised by how deeply affected I feel by the death of Dan Fogelberg, but there you have it. I am. Goodbye, Dan. May we one day meet in the most perfect of circumstances. And bring your guitar, okay? Ukulule & Melodica - Tequila
Mon, 17 Dec 07 Now this is entertaining! Kant vs Nietzche
Sun, 16 Dec 07 (I can't help but think of Monty Python's Philosopher's Song, though. See below. Oh, except the clip, although extremely funny, is NSFW.) The Drugs Song
Fri, 14 Dec 07 Major General parodies are funny no matter what they're about. (Note: Rude word toward the end. Just thought I'd warn you in case you're easily offended.) Zero Gravity Water Bubble
Fri, 07 Dec 07 Ever wonder what they do on the International Space Station? They play with bubbles! Trenchcoat - Whatcha got?!
Thu, 06 Dec 07 Amazing what you can do with 10,000 pieces of paper. Yet another stupid person
Wed, 05 Dec 07 Sherri Shepherd appears to be a completely uneducated moron. And let's not blame this on Christianity. She'd be stupid no matter what her religion was. (Note that a few weeks ago she stated that she wasn't sure if the world was round or flat...) Apparently, Europe is a country, and everyone speaks French there
Sat, 01 Dec 07 But... is France a country? (Note: Kelly Pickler is not smarter than a fifth grader; she's not even smarter than a bowl of tapioca as far as I can tell from this clip.) Dear Britney
A parody of The Beatles' "Dear Prudence", addressed to everyone's favourite(?) pop wreck, Britney Spears. (Note: It's not a video, but as this category is called "Videos and stuff" I figured it qualified as "stuff".)
Wed, 21 Nov 07 Herbal Elements for Men
Wed, 21 Nov 07 It's a shampoo ad (a spoof one) but it may not be work safe (no nudity, but you probably don't want anyone at work overhearing it). How Long
Tue, 20 Nov 07 See (and hear) what I mean? They definitely still rock! Ukulele by Jake Shimabukuro
Wed, 14 Nov 07 I had no idea a ukulele could sound like this. Wow! Pachelbel's following me....
Tue, 13 Nov 07 A unique and quite lovely take on Pachelbel's Greatest Hit: Oh, and I've posted it before, but in case you missed it, the hilarious Pachelbel Rant:
It's just like that, too!
Mon, 12 Nov 07 I can't work out how to embed this, but if you're a cat person, you'll LOVE this video... In Memorandum - The Howard Years
Wed, 07 Nov 07 This song was written and performed by a collective of musicians, activists and concerned citizens from throughout Australia who have been deeply disheartened by the actions of the Howard Government over the last eleven years. It was not endorsed or paid for by any political party. You Wouldn't Steal A Tax Policy
Wed, 07 Nov 07 Non-Australians won't get the direct references, but suffice it to say that this has been a strange election, with a lot of apparent "oh, yes, well that's our policy, too!" going on. Me-tooism, it's being called... It's Not About the Spam
Fri, 02 Nov 07 I laughed out loud a couple times watching this. Could be because I'm a geek. Or maybe it's because I use Gmail. Or maybe because I hate spam. Or all three! Zorba the Greek Yolngu style
Fri, 02 Nov 07 This is SO Australian. It's an Aboriginal dance interpretation of Zorba the Greek. You did know that Australia is full of Greeks, right? That Melbourne is, in fact, the largest Greek city in the world outside of Greece? Well, it is. And these are actual Yolngu dancing to it in traditional style. Well.... sort of traditional, anyway.... Seth Green wants us to leave Chris Crocker alone!
Wed, 31 Oct 07 First, there was the original Chris Crocker sobbing plea to "leave Britney alone", and then countless parodies, including my personal favourite (until now, anyway), Leave Blackbeard Alone. I've mostly left the many, many parodies alone because, well, most of them were pretty stupid, but now, Seth Green is begging us to leave Chris Crocker alone, and as well as being self-referential, it's a hoot. The Worm Controversy
Sun, 28 Oct 07 There was a debate between the current Prime Minister, Mr Howard, and the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Rudd. During the broadcast, they were using a "real time worm" device to show the viewers' approval. There was a huge controversy about the worm, from using it at all to asking who the viewers chosen were to viewers wondering why it appeared to react negatively or positively before the debaters would even start to speak... Here's Dr Worm in action: Australia Says No
Sun, 28 Oct 07 Note to non-Australians: This is a parody of a series of commercials that have been running in Australia for some time now, about violence against women. The Australian Liberal Party is the opposite of "liberal". Last year or so, Mr Howard introduced legislation that was supposed to be "workplace reform" but which led to a tremendous amount of unrest and, according to many reports, people losing their jobs or being very unfairly treated. When Mr Howard sent troops into Iraq, 90%+ of Australians were against it. Mr Howard has gotten caught time and time again in half-truths and outright lies, and has a whole string of broken promises behind him. Mr Howard has steadfastly refused to apologise for... well, anything. He pretty much wouldn't apologise if he shot God in the foot. (No, I don't like Mr Howard; according to current polls, a majority of Australians feel the same way.) Go Cocky!
Mon, 22 Oct 07 I always knew Cockatoos were smart, but nobody ever said they had good taste in music... The Mespotamians
Wed, 17 Oct 07 Really cute video (and if you're my age, you'll get a lot of the little in-jokes), extremely entertaining song and animation. I like They Might Be Giants. But then, I would. Because I'm a nerd. They Might Be Giants - The Mesopotamians In Your Eyes
Sat, 06 Oct 07 One of Peter Gabriel's best, in my opinion. Very moving. He became intrigued with songs he heard that were sort of half love song and half religious passion, and wanted to write something like that. I think he did very well. Sledgehammer
Sat, 06 Oct 07 A great and highly suggestive song, a really cool video. How can you not like something with dancing chicken carcasses? What "I Bought it on eBay" is to eBay, this song is to YouTube...
Fri, 05 Oct 07 Karaoke's Not That Fun!! (Carry On My Wayward Son-parody)
Fri, 05 Oct 07 The Beatles - A Midsummer Night's Dream Parody
Fri, 21 Sep 07 This is the famous parody of A Midsummer Night's Dream, thought to be lost, that the Beatles performed for a show back in the middle sixties. MC Escher Animation
Fri, 21 Sep 07 Way cool. And I'd LOVE to have a pen table that big! (And to be able to draw that well in Photoshop!) Leave Blackbeard alone!
Tue, 18 Sep 07 First, there was a (hliarious) video plea to leave Britney alone and then gossip blogger Perez Hilton's video plea for Britney to leave him alone, and now... In honour of International Talk Like a Pirate Day (which is tomorrow; arggh, don't worry, I'll remind you), a heartfelt video plea to leave Blackbeard alone. Arrgh! More cowbell!
Sat, 15 Sep 07 First, if you're unfamiliar with "more cowbell", well, watch the video... I'm listening to the Beatles (big surprise, I know). For the first time, I really noticed that A Hard Day's Night has actual cowbell. And Drive My Car has some really major cowbell. See? I knew there was a reason the Beatles were so great. COWBELL! Perez Hilton's plea to Britney Spears
Fri, 14 Sep 07 If you haven't seen the Leave Britney Alone! viral video, do so. It'll make the one below so much funnier... Yes, okay, I've admitted that I read Perez Hilton and that I have a weird fascination with celebrity culture. I just figured it was time to come out of the closet with it. And besides, I found both of those videos completely hilarious. Leave Britney alone!
Wed, 12 Sep 07 Okay, I've admitted that I have a sick fascination for celebrity culture. I also have admitted to reading a number of celeb-gossip type blogs, including (yes, I admit it!) Perez Hilton. I've read a LOT of idiotic comments about Britney Spears. Not necessarily in the blogs (though sometimes those are idiotic, too), but in the comments from random people on the internet who will defend her no matter what she does or doesn't do. A term I recently saw for them is "fantards" (and I'm sure there are fantards for people other than Britney). Today I saw this video and nearly wet myself laughing. He sounds like he's taken a bunch of actual fantard comments and acted them out. I'm still giggling... (Oh, warning, this has has some strong language in it, so maybe not safe for work or if you haven't got earphones, etc.) The overall consensus seems to be that he's serious and/or for real, but I'm still undecided.... Still, pretty funny either way, and equally disturbing, though for different reasons. Fairies and Bad Fairies
Thu, 30 Aug 07 See? Fairies are real! Here's the video proof! But remember, not all fairies are good... Some are quite the troublemakers... (not entirely safe for work) Brainiac Beauty Queen
Wed, 29 Aug 07 First, watch this (which is real): Then, watch this (which isn't, but which is extremely amusing): And then, related to the second video but not the first, but extremely entertaining (at least, I found it so): Christian the Lion
Thu, 23 Aug 07 Here's the background for this video: "So these two people raised this lion cub who they named Christian, and sadly he got too big for them to take care of so they decided to release him to live as a wild lion. Well, in this footage, a year has passed and it looks like Christian's adapted to living with a pride of lions when his old friends come back to visit him. Watch closely and you can see the look of pure disbelief that dawns on his muzzle- it's awesome. ^_^ Next thing you know, we have a heart warming reunion. Not long after, members of Christian's pride approach and even they seem to accept Christian's human friends." Breaking News: All Online Data Lost After Internet Crash

Pixar Parody
Wed, 11 Jul 07 It's not exactly workplace unfriendly, but it's a bit on the naughty side... Parody and Christianity
Tue, 26 Jun 07 If you like the first one, you'll like the others. |
