Geeks vs. Nerds

According to that, I’m more nerd than geek, but it seems they automatically equate geeks with GenX and GenY hipsters, and most of the geeks I know are not hipsters (though most of them are GenX). And for the record, I do know rather a lot of geeks. And nerds, for what it’s worth.

Oh, and I’m not “socially awkward”. I’m perfectly fine in social settings. I know how to make conversation, how to be polite, all that. I can even be the life of the party if I want to be. I just don’t particularly like social things just for the sake of sociability. I’m not awkward, just not particularly interested. I guess to some people, that means I’m “awkward”, but they’re probably extroverts who constantly need to be around other people (which is fine, I’m just INFP through and through).

Nerd, geek, meh, whatever. Amusing infograph, though.
