Well, I still don’t feel like “an Australian”. I feel like an American who has gone to live in Australia and now calls it home and intends to stay here for the rest of her life (except for the occasional overseas holiday).
But then, what does “an Australian” feel like, anyway? Australia is a multi-cultural nation. That’s probably the biggest thing about Australia. It’s a multi-cultural, many-peopled melting pot, perhaps even more than the United States, because the U.S. is really big and Australia’s population is much smaller, so you kind of notice it more (if that makes sense).
Hmmm. I guess maybe I DO feel Australian… Fair dinkum, mate!
